இந்தியாவில் கொரோனா இரண்டாவது அலை தீவிரமாகி வருகிறது. முதல் அலையில் தினசரி பாதிப்பு ஒரு லட்சத்தைத் தாண்டாத நிலையில், ஏப்ரல் 15-ம் தேதி காலை 8 மணி நிலவரப்படி முந்தைய 24 மணி நேரத்தில் 2 லட்சத்துக்கும் மேற்பட்டோருக்கு கொரோனா பாதிப்பு கண்டறியப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. அதேபோல், தினசரி இறப்பு எண்ணிக்கையும் ஆயிரத்தைக் கடந்தது.

சென்னையில் கட்டுப்பாடுகளைத் தீவிரப்படுத்திய பின்பும் மக்கள் முகக்கவசம் அணியாமல் அலட்சியமாக இருக்கும் நிலையில், சென்னை காவல் துறை சார்பில் அனைத்து இடங்களிலும் கண்காணிப்பு தீவிரப்படுத்தப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. இதில் ஏப்ரல் 14-ம் தேதி மட்டும், முகக்கவசம் அணியாதவர்களிடம் இருந்து ரூ.2,24,800 அபராதம் வசூல் செய்யப்பட்டதாகத் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. தொற்று அதிகரித்து வரும் வேலையில் நேற்று மட்டும் 1,124 வழக்குகள் பதியப்பட்டுள்ளது. தமிழக அரசும் மக்களின் நலன் கருதி பல்வேறு கட்டுப்பாடுகளை விதித்துள்ளது, அரசு மற்றும் தனியார் பேருந்துகளில் நின்றுகொண்டு பயணம் செய்ய அனுமதி இல்லை என கட்டுப்பாடுகள் கடுமையாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இருந்த போதிலும் கொரோனா தொற்று அதிகரித்துக் கொண்டே வருகிறது.
மாஸ்க் அணியாத இருசக்கர வாகன ஓட்டிகளிடம் இருந்து, 200 ரூபாய் அபராதம் மற்றும் சமூக இடைவெளியை கடைப்பிடிக்கதவர்களிடமும் அபராதம் வசூலிக்கப்படுகிறது. இதுவரை மொத்தம் 11,99,600 ரூபாய் அபராதத் தொகையாக வசூலிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. கடந்த 8-ம் தேதி முதல் இதுவரையில் தனிமனித இடைவெளியைப் பின்பற்றாதவர்கள் மீது மொத்தம் 91 வழக்குகள் பதியப்பட்டு 40,100 ரூபாய் அபராதமாக வசூலிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாகக் கூறப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.
