ஸ்டேன் ஸ்வாமி கடந்த 2018-ம் ஆண்டு மகாராஷ்டிரா மாநிலத்தில் உள்ள பீமா கொரேகான் எனும் இடத்தில் இரு சமூக மக்களிடையே வன்முறையைத் தூண்டியதாகவும் எல்கார் பரிஷத் கூட்டத்தில் கலந்து கொண்டு பேசியதன் மூலம் வன்முறையை ஏற்படுத்தியதாகவும் இவைமட்டுமில்லாமல் இவருக்கும் மாவோயிஸ்ட் அமைப்புகளுக்கும் தொடர்பு இருப்பதாகவும் இவர் மீது வரிசையாக குற்றச்சாட்டுகள் சுமத்தப்பட்டன. இந்தக் குற்றச்சாட்டுகளால் தேசிய புலனாய்வு முகமையான என்.ஐ.ஏ அதிகாரிகள் இவரை கடந்த 2020-ம் ஆண்டு அக்டோபர் மாதம் 9-ம் தேதி கைது செய்தனர். பார்க்கின்சன்ஸ் எனும் நோயினால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டிருந்த அவருக்கு சிறையில் சரியான சிகிச்சை கிடைக்கவில்லை என தகவல்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன. தேசிய மனித உரிமைகள் ஆணையம் உள்ளிட்ட அமைப்புகள் அவருக்கு சரியாக மருத்துவ சிகிச்சை அளிக்கப்பட வேண்டும் என கோரிக்கை விடுத்தன. இதனைத் தொடர்ந்து அவர் கடந்த மே மாதம் முதல் மருத்துவமனையில் அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டு சிகிச்சைப் பெற்று வந்தார். இந்த நிலையில், நேற்று சிகிச்சை பலனளிக்காமல் உயிரிழந்தார். இவரது மரணத்துக்கு மத்திய அரசு மற்றும் அதிகாரிகளின் அலட்சியப் போக்கே காரணம் எனவும் அவர்மீதான குற்றச்சாட்டுகள் அரசியல் நோக்கம் உடையவை எனவும் சமூக வலைதளங்களின் வழியாக அரசியல்வாதிகள் மற்றும் சமூக ஆர்வலர்கள் குற்றச்சாட்டுகளை வைத்து வருகின்றனர். யார் இந்த ஸ்டேன் ஸ்வாமி? சமூக செயற்பாட்டாளராக என்னென்ன செய்துள்ளார்? என்பதைப் பற்றிதான் இந்தக் கட்டுரையில் தெரிந்துகொள்ளப் போகிறோம்.
தமிழகத்தில் திருச்சிராப்பள்ளி மாவட்டத்தில் 1937-ம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் மாதம் 26-ம் தேதி ஸ்டானிஸ்லாஸ் லூர்துசாமி என்ற ஸ்டேன் ஸ்வாமி பிறந்தார். செயின்ட் ஜோசப் பள்ளியில் தனது பள்ளிப்படிப்பை முடித்த இவர் பள்ளி நாள்கள் முதலே சமூக சேவைகளில் ஈடுபட்டு வந்துள்ளார். இதன் தொடர்ச்சியாக 1957-ம் ஆண்டு பாதிரியார் படிப்பை பயில ஆரம்பித்துள்ளார். ஜார்க்கண்ட் மாநிலத்தில் சிங்பூம் பகுதியில் அமைந்துள்ள செயின்ட் சேவியர் உயர்நிலைப் பள்ளியில் ஆசிரியராகவும் விடுதியின் தலைவராகவும் வேலை செய்து வந்தார். அப்போது பழங்குடி மக்களின் வாழ்வில் நடக்கும் சுரண்டல்களை பார்த்துள்ளார். இந்த சம்பவங்கள் அவரது வாழ்வில் மிகப்பெரிய தாக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்தியதோடு பழங்குடி மக்களின் உரிமைகளுக்காக போராட வேண்டும் என்ற விதையையும் போட்டுள்ளது. இதனைத் தொடர்ந்து பிலிப்பைன்ஸ் நாட்டில் உள்ள மணிலா எனும் நகருக்கு மேற்படிப்பிற்காக சென்றுள்ளார். அங்கும் அவருக்கு பழங்குடி மக்களுடன் தொடர்பு ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. இதன் வழியாக சர்வதேச அளவில் பழங்குடி மக்களின் நிலைமை எவ்வாறு உள்ளது என்பது தொடர்பான புரிதல் அவருக்கு ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. மேற்படிப்புகளை முடித்த பின்னர் ஜார்க்கண்ட் மாநிலத்தில் உள்ள ஜாம்ஷெட்பூர் பகுதிக்கு திரும்பி வந்துள்ளார். இங்கு கத்தோலிக்க அமைப்புகளுடன் இணைந்து தனது சேவைகளைத் தொடர்ந்து செய்து வந்துள்ளார்.
ஜார்க்கண்ட் மாநிலத்தில் உள்ள பல பகுதிகளில் இருந்து பழங்குடி மக்கள் 1990-களின் இறுதியில் விரட்டப்பட்டனர். அம்மாநிலத்தில் உள்ள பாலமு மற்றும் கும்லா மாவட்டங்களில் ஃபீல்ட் ஃபயரிங் ரேஞ்ச் என்ற திட்டம் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டது. ராஞ்சி மற்றும் சிங்பூம் பகுதிகளில் கோயல் கரோ என்ற அணைத் திட்டம் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டது. இதனால், பழங்குடி மக்கள் தங்களது நிலங்களைப் பறிகொடுத்தனர். பழங்குடியின மக்களுக்கு எதிரான இந்தத் திட்டங்களை எதிர்த்து போராட வேண்டிட விஷயங்களில் அமைப்புகளை ஒருங்கிணைக்கும் பொறுப்பை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு செயல்பட்டார். 2010-ம் ஆண்டுக்குப் பிறகு பழங்குடியின மக்கள் தங்களது பகுதிகளில் இருந்த சொத்துக்களில் கல் பலகைகளை அமைக்கத் தொடங்கினர். இதற்கு எதிராக அப்போது ஆட்சியில் இருந்த அரசு வன்முறைகளை கட்டவிழ்த்துவிட்டது. பழங்குடியின மக்களுக்கு ஆதரவாக இருந்த ஸ்டேன் ஸ்வாமி உள்ளிட்ட பல ஆர்வலர்கள் மீது தேசத்துரோக வழக்குகள் போடப்பட்டன. அப்போது அந்தப் பிரச்னை தொடர்பாக ஸ்டேன் ஸ்வாமி தனது ஃபேஸ்புக் பக்கத்தில் அரசு பேச்சுவார்த்தை மூலம் இந்தப் பிரச்னையை தீர்க்க வேண்டும் என எழுதியிருந்தார். இதற்கு எதிராக அவர்மீது தேசத்துரோக வழக்கு போடப்பட்டது மிகப்பெரிய சர்ச்சையை ஏற்படுத்தியது.
பழங்குடியின மக்களுக்கு ஆதரவாக முடிந்த வரை தனது வாழ்நாளில் போராடினார். அவர்களின் உரிமைகளுக்கு எதிராக எடுக்கப்படும் எந்தவொரு நடவடிக்கைக்கும் எதிராக தனது குரலைப் பதிவு செய்து வந்தார். இதனால், மாநில அரசு அவரது குரலை ஒடுக்க நினைத்து பல்வேறு முயற்சிகளை எடுத்தன. இறுதியில் அவரை கைதும் செய்தனர். அவரது ஜாமீன் மனு மீதான விசாரணைகள் நடந்துகொண்டிருக்கும்போதே அவரது மறைவு நிகழ்ந்துள்ளது அவரது ஆதரவாளர்கள் மத்தியில் அதிர்ச்சியை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது. இவரது மறைவுக்கு தலைவர்கள் பலரும் தங்களது இரங்கலைத் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர். கேரள முதல்வர் பினராயி விஜயன் தனது ட்விட்டர் பக்கத்தில், “பாதிரியார் ஸ்டேன் சாமியின் மறைவு செய்தியால் ஆழ்ந்த வருத்தமடைகிறேன். சமுதாயத்தில் மிகவும் நலிந்த நிலையில் இருக்கும் மக்களுக்காக தனது வாழ்நாள் முழுவதும் அவர் போராடிய மனிதர் காவலில் இறந்தது நியாயமற்றது. ஆழ்ந்த இரங்கள்கள்” என தெரிவித்துள்ளார். தமிழக முதல்வர் மு.க.ஸ்டாலின், “பழங்குடியின மக்களின் உரிமைப் போராளியும் மனிதவுரிமைச் செயற்பாட்டாளருமான ஸ்டேன் சுவாமி அவர்கள் மறைந்த செய்தியறிந்து அதிர்ச்சியுற்றேன். ஆழ்ந்த இரங்கல். அடித்தட்டு மக்களுக்காகப் போராடிய அவருக்கு நேர்ந்த துயரம் இனி எவருக்கும் நிகழக் கூடாது” என்று தெரிவித்துள்ளார். அதேபோல தொல் திருமாவளவன், “பாஜக அரசால் பொய்வழக்கில் கைதுசெய்யப்பட்ட பழங்குடி மக்களின் பணியாளர் பாதிரியார் ஸ்டான்சாமி உயிரிழந்தார். பாஜக அரசு சட்டத்தின் துணையோடு செய்திருக்கும் படுகொலையென்றே கூறவேண்டும். பாஜக அரசின் இந்த ‘சட்டம்சார் பயங்கரவாதத்தை’ வன்மையாகக் கண்டிக்கிறோம்” என்று தனது கண்டனத்தைப் பதிவு செய்துள்ளார்.
