2021 சட்டமன்றத் தேர்தலில் தி.மு.க-வினரே தனக்கு எதிராகச் செயல்பட்டதாக அக்கட்சியின் பொதுச்செயலாளரும் அமைச்சருமான துரைமுருகன் பேசியிருக்கிறார். பின்னணி என்ன?

காட்பாடியில் ரேஷன் கடை திறப்பு விழாவில் பேசிய துரைமுருகன், அரசு அதிகாரிகள் அலட்சியப்போக்கைக் கைவிட வேண்டும். மக்களுக்காக உண்மையிலேயே பாடுபட வேண்டும்’’ என்று அறிவுறுத்தினார். அதன்பின்னர் தேர்தல் குறித்து பேசிய அவர்,என்னுடைய துறை (நீர்வளத் துறை) காரணமாக தமிழ்நாடு முழுவதும் சுற்றி ஏரி, குளம், குட்டைகளில் தண்ணீர் இருக்கிறதா எனப் பார்க்க வேண்டும். இதற்கிடையில் டெல்லி போக வேண்டி இருக்கிறது. முதலமைச்சருக்கு அடுத்த நிலையில் இருப்பதால், பல வேலைகள் செய்ய வேண்டி இருக்கிறது. இவ்வளவு இருந்தாலும் நான் தொகுதியைப் பார்க்கிறவன். எனக்கு இந்த முறை நீங்க ஓட்டுப்போடலை.. அது வேற விஷயம். எனக்கு நீங்க ஓட்டுப்போடலியேனு கோபித்துக் கொண்டு வராமல் இருக்க மாட்டேன். எனக்குத் தெரியும் ஓட்டுப் போட்டீங்க..போட்டிருப்பீங்க.. எனக்கு ஓட்டுப் போட வேண்டாம்னு பண்ணவங்க பலபேரு எங்க கட்சியிலேயே இருக்கான். அவங்கள்லாம் யாரு யாருன்னு கண்டுபிடிச்சுட்டேன். அவங்க மேல சீக்கிரமே நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்படும். பொறுத்திருந்து பாருங்க… யாரு யாருனு உங்களுக்கே தெரியும்’’ என்று பேசினார்.

துரைமுருகன் ஏன் அப்படி பேசினார்?

தி.மு.க பொதுச்செயலாளர் துரைமுருகன் இதுவரை 11 சட்டமன்றத் தேர்தல்களில் களம் கண்டவர். குறிப்பாக வேலூர் மாவட்டம் காட்பாடி தொகுதியில் 9 முறை போட்டியிட்டு 7 முறை வென்றவர். இந்தமுறையும் காட்பாடி தொகுதியில் போட்டியிட்டவர் 8-வது முறையாக மிகவும் எளிதாக வென்றுவிடுவார் என்று கணிக்கப்பட்டது. ஆனால், வாக்கு எண்ணிக்கையின்போது அ.தி.மு.க வேட்பாளர் ராமு தொடக்கம் முதலே துரைமுருகனை விட முன்னிலையில் இருந்தார். 17-வது சுற்றின் முடிவிலேயே துரைமுருகன் முன்னிலை பெற முடிந்தது. இறுதியில் 52,526 பெற்ற துரைமுருகன் அ.தி.மு.க வேட்பாளர் ராமுவை 745 வாக்குகள் வித்தியாசத்திலேயே வென்றார். ராமு பெற்ற வாக்குகள் எண்ணிக்கை 51,087.
