இலட்சிய நடிகர் எஸ்.எஸ்.ஆரின் அரசியல் பயணம் எப்படியிருந்தது?

மதுரை மாவட்டம் சேடபட்டியில் பிறந்து வளர்ந்தவர் சேடபட்டி சூரிய நாராயண ராஜேந்திரன். சிறுவயதிலேயே பாய்ஸ் கிளப் நாடகக் கம்பெனியில் குழந்தை நட்சத்திரமாக நடித்தவர், பின்னாட்களில் டி.கேஸ்.பிரதர்ஸ் நாடகக் கம்பெனியில் இணைந்தார். நடிகர் சிவாஜி அறிமுகமான பராசக்தி’ படம்தான் எஸ்.எஸ்.ஆர் மீது லைம்லைட்டைப் பாய்ச்சியது. அதற்கு முன்னர் ஒரு சில படங்களில் நடித்திருந்தாலும் பராசக்தி படம்தான் அவரது கரியரில் முக்கியமான திருப்புமுனையை ஏற்படுத்தியது. அந்த காலத்தில் புராணப் படங்கள் பெருகிப் போயிருந்த சூழலில் திராவிட இயக்கக் கொள்கையின்படி, திரையில் திருநீறு உள்பட எந்த மதத்தின் சாயலையும் ஏற்று நடிப்பதில்லை என்று கொள்கையாகவே கடைபிடித்து வந்தார். இதனாலேயேலட்சிய நடிகர்’ எனப் பெயர் பெற்றார். 2018ம் ஆண்டு வரை சினிமாவில் நடித்த எஸ்.எஸ்.ஆர். மொத்தம் 75 படங்களில் நடித்திருக்கிறார். உடல்நலக் குறைவால் அவதிப்பட்டு வந்த அவர், கடந்த 2014-ம் ஆண்டு உயிரிழந்தார்.

அறிஞர் அண்ணாவின் மீதும் அவரது கருத்துகள் மீதும் தீவிரமான பற்றுக்கொண்டவர் எஸ்.எஸ்.ஆர். அவரின் அடியொற்றி தி.மு.க-வில் தன்னை இணைத்துக்கொண்டு பணியாற்றினார். அண்ணாவையே தனது அரசியல் குருவாக ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு தி.மு.க மேடைகளில், தனது கணீர் குரலில் பேசி ஈர்த்தார். அவரது தெளிவான தமிழ் உச்சரிப்பும் வசனங்களைப் பேசும் முறையும் அப்போதிருந்த மிகச்சில நடிகர்களுக்கு மட்டுமே வாய்த்திருந்தது. அவரது பணிகளால் ஈர்க்கப்பட்ட அண்ணா, தி.மு.க முதன்முதலில் போட்டியிட்ட1957 சட்டமன்றத் தேர்தலில் தேனி தொகுதியில் போட்டியிட வாய்ப்புக் கிடைத்தது. அந்தத் தேர்தலில் தோற்றாலும், அடுத்துவந்த 1962 தேர்தலில் அதே தொகுதியில் போட்டியிட்டு எம்.எல்.ஏவானார். அதன்மூலம் இந்தியாவிலேயே சட்டமன்ற உறுப்பினரான முதல் திரைப்பட நடிகர் என்ற பெயர் பெற்றார் எஸ்.எஸ்.ஆர்.

அண்ணா மீது கொண்டிருந்த பற்று காரணமாக அவர் உயிரிழந்தபோது தற்கொலை செய்துகொள்ள முயன்றார் எஸ்.எஸ்.ஆர். இதுகுறித்து ஒருமுறை பேசிய அவர், “பேரறிஞர் அண்ணா இறந்து விட்டார். என்னால் அந்தத் துயரத்தை தாங்க முடியவில்லை. என் தலைவரே இறந்து விட்டார். இனி நான் உயிர் வாழ்வதில் அர்த்தமில்லை என்ற முடிவுக்கு வந்து விட்டேன். எனக்கு மது குடிக்கும் பழக்கம் உண்டு. அதனால் அளவுக்கு அதிகமாக மது குடித்து செத்து விடுவது என்று முடிவு செய்து, அதுபோலவே குடித்து கவலைக்கிடமாக மருத்துவமனையில் அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டேன்.

என்னை செருப்பால் அடித்தது போல் உணர்ந்தேன். அதற்கு மேல் மருத்துவமனையில் இருக்கவும் என்னால் முடியவில்லை. யாரிடமும் சொல்லாமல் யாருக்கும் தெரியாமல் மருத்துவமனையிலிருந்து சுவர் ஏறி குதித்து வீடு வந்து சேர்ந்தேன். அன்று பெரியார் என்னை அப்படி பேசாமல் இருந்திருந்தால். நான் இப்போது உயிரோடு இருந்திருக்க மாட்டேன்’’ என்று கூறி நெகிழ்ந்தார் எஸ்.எஸ்.ஆர்.

எம்.எல்.ஏ மட்டுமல்லாது தி.மு.க சார்பில் 1970-76 ஆண்டுகளில் ராஜ்யசபா எம்.பியாகவும் இருந்தார். பின்னர், கருணாநிதியுடனான கருத்து வேறுபாட்டால் அக்கட்சியிலிருந்து விலகி எம்.ஜி.ஆர் தலைமையிலான அ.தி.மு.க-வில் இணைந்தார். 1980-ல் ஆண்டிபட்டியில் போட்டியிட்டு எம்.எல்.ஏ-வானார். அந்தத் தேர்தலில் தமிழக அளவில் அதிக வாக்குகள் வித்தியாசத்தில் வெற்றியைப் பதிவு செய்தார். 1980-ல் சிறுசேமிப்புக் கழகத்தின் தலைவராகவும் பொறுப்பு வகித்தார். எம்.ஜி.ஆர் உடல்நலமில்லாமல் இருந்த சூழலில் 1984 தேர்தலில் போட்டியிட எஸ்.எஸ்.ஆருக்கு அ.தி.மு.க சார்பில் வாய்ப்பு வழங்கப்படவில்லை. இதனால், அதிருப்தியடைந்த அவர், அ.தி.மு.க-விலிருந்து விலகி எம்.ஜி.ஆர் எஸ்.எஸ்.ஆர் கழகம் என்ற கட்சியைத் தொடங்கினார். அந்தத் தேர்தலில் சேடபட்டி தொகுதியில் போட்டியிட்ட அவர் தோல்வியடைந்தார்.
