ஸ்ரீஜேஷின் சிறப்பான செயல்பாடுகளால் 2016-ம் ஆண்டு ரியோ ஒலிம்பிக்கில் பங்கேற்ற இந்திய அணியின் கேப்டன் பொறுப்புக்கு அவர் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டார். ரியோ ஒலிம்பிக்கின் காலிறுதி வரை முன்னேறிய இந்திய அணி, பெல்ஜியத்திடம் 1-3 என்ற கணக்கில் தோல்வியடைந்தது. அதன்பின்னர் வந்த இரண்டு, மூன்று ஆண்டுகள் அவர் வாழ்வின் முக்கியமான ஒரு சூழலை ஏற்படுத்திக் கொடுத்தது. 2017 ஏப்ரலில் நடந்த அஷ்லான் ஷா கோப்பை தொடரில் விளையாடியபோது காயமடைந்த ஸ்ரீஜேஷ், மிகவும் சிரமப்பட்டு அதிலிருந்து மீண்டுவந்தார். தனது கரியரின் மிகப்பெரிய பிரேக் என்று அவர் கூறும் அந்தக் காயத்திலிருந்து மீண்டு 2017 செப்டம்பரில் அணியில் இணைந்தார். 2018 ஜனவரியில் நியூசிலாந்துக்கு எதிரான தொடரில் களமிறங்கிய அவருக்கு கேப்டன் பொறுப்பு அளிக்கப்படவில்லை.
